Cookie Policy

Last updated: 7 July 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Orbis Digital Ltd (trading as "Orbis Salon") uses cookies and similar technologies on the Orbis Salon platform (the "Service"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. We comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 ("PECR") and UK GDPR.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to keep you signed in, and to remember your preferences. Similar technologies (such as local storage) work in comparable ways; we refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.

2. How we use cookies

The Orbis Salon dashboard uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for the Service to operate. Because these cookies are essential, PECR does not require your consent for them — the Service cannot function without them. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party tracking cookies on the dashboard.

3. Cookies we set

CookiePurposeTypeDuration
orbis_session Keeps you securely signed in to your account and maintains your session (including your active venue and security state). Also carries the anti-forgery (CSRF) token that protects forms from malicious requests. Strictly necessary (first party) Session — deleted when you close your browser or sign out

The exact cookie name may vary slightly by installation. No personal data is stored in the cookie itself — it holds only a random identifier that links to your session on our servers.

4. Fonts and embedded resources

The Service loads web fonts from Google Fonts to display the interface. When your browser requests a font file, your IP address is disclosed to the font provider as a technical necessity of serving the file. No cookies are set by this request.

5. Salon booking pages and websites

Public booking pages and websites operated by individual salons through the Service also use strictly necessary session cookies (for example to hold a booking in progress or keep a client signed in to their portal account). Any additional cookies or analytics added by a salon to its own website are that salon's responsibility as controller, and the salon's own privacy and cookie information applies.

6. Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings — see your browser's help pages for instructions (guidance for common browsers is available at aboutcookies.org). Please note that blocking the strictly necessary cookies listed above will prevent you from signing in to and using the Service.

7. Changes to this policy

If we introduce any non-essential cookies in future (for example analytics), we will update this policy and, where required by PECR, ask for your consent before setting them.
